Unfortunately, our Centre isn’t residential; however, we can provide you with a list of local accommodation for therapists from outside London. This accommodation has not been inspected by ourselves and we cannot make recommendations, but we do monitor feedback from other participants and bear this in mind when compiling our list of local options.

Arrangements for accommodation and travel should only be considered when you have a confirmed booking. Participants from outside Watford are advised not to book travel to our Centre before checking that there are no changes to the course they wish to attend (minimum six weeks prior to the start date). We are not able to reimburse expenses if courses are cancelled.

We do require full attendance for our courses. However, if there are special circumstances then please contact us to advise us of the situation and we will be supportive and try to find a way of accommodating the absence.

Please be aware though that if we are not made aware of any special circumstance impacting attendance, it is then within our discretion to withhold certificates.

Some courses may not be on our current schedule. If this is the case, please join our mailing list and we will let you know when the next course is planned.

We welcome international applicants. A good level of English language is important including knowledge of medical terminology associated with Cerebral Palsy. For more information about English language requirements for Bobath courses please read our information about English language proficiency

Please also check the visa requirements for applicants from outside the European Union as course applicants from non-EU countries may require a visa to study in the UK. The Bobath Centre is unable to advise of specific visa requirements, but the visa information from the UK Border Agency may be useful.

Visitors may apply for a study visa up to three months before their date of travel, a copy of the visa should accompany the course application.

Bobath courses are suitable for physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists or doctors.

A two day course for Therapy Assistants is also offered annually.

Usually there will not be any work prior to the course, though this may vary. Full details are available within the course description.

We have training rooms on the first floor where courses are taught, with accessible lift access. Computer access is available along with free Wi-Fi. As we do not provide lunch we recommend bringing something and you may use the compact shared kitchen. Lockers are available on request.

Some Bobath courses can be delivered at external venues, bespoke courses can also be considered.

In-house problem solving sessions or workshops are available, please email for details.

Cancellations

The Bobath Centre is a registered charity and training courses are carefully priced to ensure that we provide a service that is accessible to all. The Centre’s training programme is restricted to a specified number of applicants per course. Late cancellations, due to illness or inability to attend, have a significant impact to the overall finance of the Centre, therefore liability for fees remains with the delegate or their employer.

Refunds

Refunds or transfers can be made if written notice is received with a minimum of 6 weeks notice prior to the start of the course, all refunds or transfers are subject to an administrative fee. The Bobath Centre is unable to offer refunds on cancellations arising from events beyond our control, this includes participant illness, or inability to attend at short notice, adverse weather conditions, transport difficulties or terrorist alert. The Bobath Centre reserves the right to cancel courses if there are insufficient enrolments and in these circumstances will refund fees in full. The Bobath Centre will not be held responsible for any damages incurred as a result of course cancellation.

Please read our training cancellation policy in full for more information.
