MOVE policy and campaigning framework

MOVE is our policy briefing that calls for local authorities, health services, educational establishments and employers to consider the needs of people with cerebral palsy .

MOVE is our policy briefing that calls for local authorities, health services, educational establishments and employers to consider the needs of people with cerebral palsy (CP) so that the following is accessible:

  • Movement: Ongoing free specialist therapy for people living with CP enabling them to stay mobile and active and to manage the pain associated with their condition.
  • Opportunities: People living with CP have access to opportunities to lead equal lives, by giving babies and children with CP the best start in life through free Early Intervention therapy
  • Variety of services: People living with CP have access to a variety of services as they transition throughout their lives and their needs change
  • Education & Employment: People living with CP are inspired and supported to achieve their ambitions and aspirations in life, through tailored services and help with their Education and Employment environments.

We support the call for investment in early intervention (EI)

The Early Intervention Foundation (2018) advises that “there’s a need to recognise that supporting children and families with complex problems requires a resource-intensive, long term response”. We support the call for investment to support children and families with CP.

We support the call for lifelong services

We support the APPG on CP (2022) who called for Healthcare pathways for adults, better support for GPs to support those living in the community, enhanced employment rights and support for employees with CP, and for informed guidance for employers to help adults with CP get into, stay in and progress in the workplace. We support the call for lifelong services for people with CP.
